If you have decided on purchasing a new television, then you would find that there are a lot of options available for you to choose from. In fact, you may find that all the different models have so many features that it can overwhelm you.
LG Infinia 55LW5600 combines understated elegance, great set of features, and solid 2D performance to justify a price tag that is well above other HDTVs in the same class and size range. Buyers may at once look askance, but are well advised to take a closer look and appreciate what the LED-based 3D TV offers. You can make your choice depending on what you want.
Glossy black coloring, squared-off corners and a medium-width bezel contribute to its staid appearance. LG Infinia 55LW5600 3D HDTV certainly looks staid compared to the eye-catching beauty of its cousins in the LX9500 series. The HDTV is perched atop a low-rise swivel stand with shiny rectangular base with only the transparent edging on the 1.5-inch bezels and the unilluminated LG logo at the bottom frame as highlights – a minimalist look with understated chic that should perfectly suit modern homes.
Like other 2011 LG releases, two remotes are shipped with the Infinia 55LW5600: the standard remote with well-placed, illuminated keys and the Wii-like motion controller. The wand-like controller has been upgraded to seamlessly access and control more menu items and apps (except Netflix), although there is still room for improvement to make motion control much more efficient. Both remotes work well with the fresh LG menu designed for Smart TV capable HDTVs that features a webpage-like interface.
This 55LW5600 TV is part of the LW Series of LG HDTVs. Key features this TV offers: A 1080p HDTV will have a 1920 x 1080 display and is suitable for an HDTV of any size and will present full HD video with stunning clarity and definition. A 120 Hz refresh rate will display video smoothly and accurately; it’s perfect for watching fast-action content like sports and action movies.
Sets with Edge-Lit LED backlighting have LED bulbs installed in the bezel of the set, which send their light through a refractor, illuminating an LCD display. TruMotion 120 Hz is LG’s method of motion interpolation, allowing the HDTV to display video at a 120 Hz refrsh rate. The LG Smart TV is an Internet TV that brings online apps to your TV, along with the ability to stream content, check the weather, and play games.

Because of the use of Passive 3D, you can be sure that you do not have any problem of ghost images being seen on your TV, as is the case with other 3D sets. You would find that it is lot more comfortable in Passive 3D when you are watching for longer durations.
Another advantage that you can get with LG Infinia 55LW5600 is that the glasses would be a lot cheaper than is the case with other brands. When you purchase this product, you would get 4 pairs of unpowered polarised glasses. If you want additional ones, you would be able to purchase them cheaply. Also, you can even purchase glasses made by third parties as well, as they would be compatible.
This TV also includes a USB port so that you would be able to look at any pictures that you may have clicked using your digital camera. The screen resolution and reproduction would be very good. Another feature is the availability of Wi-Fi as well.
The LG LW5600 is a very good overall performer for an edge-lit LED, matching its Samsung competitor the Samsung UN46D6400 with a “7″ in this subcategory although each has distinct advantages and disadvantages. We were most impressed by the LG’s color, and while local dimming causes blooming and artifacts, the deep black levels and better uniformity were worth the tradeoff.
